Invisalign is orthodontic treatment using clear, removable templates called "aligners". Your teeth are moved using a series of aligners which were customized for you by Dr. Tabacchi using 3-D Computerized technology. The aligners fit precisely to gently straighten your teeth without wires and brackets.
The aligners are virtually undetectable, which means hardly anyone will know that you're straightening your teeth. And unlike braces, your aligners can be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing!
Invisalign at Tabacchi Orthodontics is available to late teenage and adult patients. Dr. Tabacchi is one of the leading advanced specialists for those patients seeking Invisalign treatment. Our Invisalign patients range from those that need simple tooth alignment to even those with the most advanced bite problems. Find out the amazing results that Invisalign can do for you!
To determine what Invisalign can do for you, come in to see Dr. Tabacchi for a consultation. She can give you all of the details at that time. Because Dr. Tabacchi has advanced training and experience with Invisalign, most patients are great candidates for Invisalign.
All treatment options will be given to you at the consultation. Dr. Tabacchi only gives treatment options which will allow your result to not only give you a great smile, but a functional bite as well.
Some patients are great candidates for Invisalign, but choose to wear braces. You may ask "Why?"....The answer is that we council patients on the necessity to wear aligners full-time. Failure to wear aligners can significantly compromise treatment results.
There is an age limitation for Invisalign, young patients who are still growing teeth. If a younger patient still has baby teeth, has partially erupted permanent teeth, or has a jaw mis-match problem, then this patient is not a candidate for Invisalign.
Otherwise, we even have our golden senior citizens as patients in Invisalign! We have WEDDING PARTIES all in Invisalign (including mother-in-laws!), college students, stay-at-home moms, dads who travel on business all week, and even some of our Kansas City celebrities are in treatment (but it's invisible--so you can't tell who is in treatment!)
Tabacchi Orthodontics provides patients with exceptional treatment results using Invisalign!

Important:
- Never EAT with your aligners in – it will cause distortion.
- Never bite your aligner to insert it in place – it will cause distortion. USE FINGER PRESSURE TO INSERT.
- Always scrub the aligner clean with a toothbrush to prevent mineral build-up.
- DO NOT USE HOT WATER TO RINSE OR CLEAN YOUR ALIGNERS. IT WILL DISTORT OR MELT THE PLASTIC!
- Carry your aligner case with you at all times to prevent loss of aligners at meal time.
- Your teeth may feel sore for several days after a new aligner is placed. That is a sign of the aligners sequentially moving your teeth.
- Continue regular visits with your dentist for a cleaning and check-up.
- Remove aligner from the back molars and then forward. Use your fingernails or ask for an aligner remover from us. A crochet hook will also work well!
- Be patient with yourself! It takes some practice to get the feel of placing and removing the aligners.
- It is normal to "feel" you have a lisp when speaking at first. Read the newspaper or a book aloud the first evening to help your tongue get used to the aligner.
- Be careful not to explore the edges of the aligner with your tongue. You will get an uncomfortable rub sore!
- If you lose an aligner, call Tabacchi Orthodontics immediately! A new aligner may have to be ordered, depending on where you are in treatment. The cost of EACH aligner lost is $65.00 plus shipping.
- Smoking is discouraged because of potential staining.
- Do not chew gum while wearing aligners--it will stick to the aligners!!
- Remember: Invisalign ONLY works while you are wearing your aligners. Successful treatment requires FULL-TIME night and day wear, (except eating, brushing, and flossing).
