Her dedication to cutting-edge care and patient education has allowed to her to meet the needs of patients of all ages. Below is a brief list of some of the orthodontic treatments that we offer.

Silver Braces and Ceramic Braces

If you have crooked teeth, it’s important to consider getting braces. Crooked teeth are not just an aesthetic problem. In fact, a misaligned smile can have adverse effects on the jaw joints and even the structure of your jawbone. When you visit Dr. Tabacchi at her Leawood office, she will use the latest technology to make treatment as effective as possible. OrthoCAD iQ technology will allow her to more accurately place brackets to enhance the speed and efficacy of treatment.

Braces come in many different varieties. There are the traditional type of braces which use silver brackets and wires to gradually adjust the alignment of a patient’s teeth. The brackets are much smaller today than they were in the past, and patients can even select different colors for their metal braces. There are also ceramic braces, which are tooth-colored and just as effective. Some patients prefer having these ceramic braces in place since they are not quite as noticeable as their metal counterparts.

You may also want to consider Invisalign® and Invisalign Teen®, which used clear plastic aligners rather than brackets and wires to straighten your smile. You’ll be able to discuss these options in greater detail with Dr. Tabacchi during your consultation at the office.

Adult Orthodontics

Getting a great looking smile and enhancing your overall dental health is possible at any age. While children and teenagers often undergo orthodontic treatment as they’re growing, we’ve noticed more and more adults come into our office in Leawood for orthodontic treatment. Adult orthodontics means improving the appearance of your smile so you can feel great about yourself in your personal life and professional life.

During your consultation with Dr. Tabacchi, you’ll be able to discuss which orthodontic treatments will best meet your needs. Many adults have received adult braces at our office, and with OrthoCAD iQ, Dr. Tabacchi can make your braces treatment quicker and much more effective in less time. Many adults often opt for Invisalign® since the clear plastic aligners that are used are virtually undetectable. You’ll be able to learn more about how to enhance the appearance of your smile when you visit our office.

Retainers

After you’ve undergone a successful treatment with braces or Invisalign®, you’ll be given a customized retainer to help maintain the appearance of your smile for years to come. It’s important that you follow Dr. Tabacchi’s instructions when it comes to your retainer. Be sure to wear it as she advises, and make sure that you keep the retainer clean. (This can be accomplished through regular brushing and soaking the retainer with a cleaning tablet when not in use.)

Dr. Tabacchi believes in lifelong retention of a great smile, which is why she always encourages her patients to contact the office if they have issues with their retainers. This includes improper fit of the retainer, retainer damage, and retainer loss.
