OrthoCAD iQ Computerized Braces

Dr. Kelly Tabacchi was one of the first orthodontists to use the OrthoCAD iQ bracket placement system for braces. In fact, Tabacchi Orthodontics was the first office in the Kansas City area and the Midwest to use this technology. This is a major distinction that we are proud to have.

This system uses advanced computer technology to help determine the best placement for brackets on each individual tooth. Each tooth is mapped in three dimensions and the full treatment plan is plotted well in advance.

Optimal bracket placement means a lot to the overall treatment process for each patient. Not only is each treatment customized with greater efficiency, but the overall treatment time with braces can be reduced by at least 25%. This means that patients will require fewer adjustment visits and that they can have their braces removed sooner than they would with traditional, non-computerized braces treatment.

Laser Dentistry

Lasers have become a great tool for orthodontists, dentists, and medical and dental health professionals over the years. Whether they’re used to treat soft tissues or to assist in advanced diagnostics, you can be sure that lasers will play a greater role in the future of dentistry, orthodontics, and medicine. At Tabacchi Orthodontics, we use lasers to assist with diagnostics and to help assess a patient’s overall dental health. We feel that laser technology improves our ability to determine the best possible treatment plan for every patient that we encounter.

Digital Imaging, Models, and X-Rays

Advances in digital technology have helped us make great leaps towards safer and more effective treatment. Digital imaging and modeling allows us to plot and monitor orthodontic treatments for our patients. This means enhanced care for patients getting metal or ceramic braces or Invisalign®/Invisalign Teen®.

In addition to digital imaging and modeling, our office uses digital radiography technology. Using these digital x-rays means that patients are exposed to 2/3 less radiation than traditional x-rays. The image quality of digital x-rays is exceptionally clear as well, which is another advantage over traditional x-ray technology.
